Watchtree Nature Reserve

A teens club will launch at north Cumbria’s Watchtree Nature Reserve this summer.

Following the success of our popular Kid’s Clubs and its more recent SEND and SEMH sessions, it is launching the club for 12 to 15-year-olds.

It will run from 10am to 4pm later this month.

Each session will include hands-on activities such as:

  • Tool use and bushcraft skills
  • Fire lighting and campfire cooking
  • Tree and plant identification
  • Foraging and cycling
  • Den building and woodland games

A Watchtree spokesman said: “This is more than just a day out – it’s a chance for young people to gain confidence, learn practical skills, and enjoy nature in a safe, inclusive environment.

“We’re thrilled to give teens the same high-quality outdoor experience that has made our children’s clubs so beloved.”

Only 12 spaces are available for this pilot project, and demand is expected to be high.
