
Cumbria was well represented in the England team that won the Under-18s Youth Four Nations Championship.
Their third win in the competition came with a 34-0 win over previously unbeaten Wales.
South Cumbrians Rio Walker (Millom) and Trent Ruddy (Barrow Island) were among the try scorers as they had established a 24-0 lead by half-time.
Also in the starting line-up were Rhomen Alick (Wath Brow), Bailey Worthington (Distington) and Kier Starkie (Hensingham), while Xenden Callander (Lowca) and Jack Barker (Millom) were among the used substitutes.
England won all three games, scoring 98 points in the process and only conceding 18.
Not so successful were England in the Four Nations Under-16s Championship, losing 18-0 to Wales in the final games after previously drawing with Ireland and beating Scotland.
Wales, who scored all their points in the first half, were winning the title for a third successive year.
Seven Cumbrians in the squad were: Rio York (Ulverston), Lewis Walling (Maryport), Tyce Walmsley (Lowca), Rhys Bold (Seaton), Dean Pattinson (Wath Brow), Eddie Calvin (Seaton), Joe Towers (Wath Brow).
