Free family-friendly mini arts festivals will place in Barrow this summer.
BarrowFull’s popular Playcations will see the town’s parks and spaces transformed into places of creative fun next month, with people of all ages invited to rediscover the joy of play.
Playcations offer a new range of playful experiences that have been designed with and for the people who live in Barrow.
Fairly Famous Theatre company, which brought comedy show Anyone for Tennis to Barrow, returns with more sports-themed street theatre, and Herd Theatre brings its interactive pop-up playground experience, currently being enjoyed at the Southbank Centre in London.
Artist Danielle Chappell-Aspinwall will show people how to create sculptures with air-drying clay, and people can make comics with Lakes International Comic Art Festival.
Audiences can challenge their families and friends with the giant Bees and Arrows Game as well as other games to play outside, and people can try out musical instruments with Cumbria’s Drum and Brass.
Playcations producer Lolli Fallon said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the Playcations to Barrow again this year.
“We know our audiences welcome free things to do in the summer holidays and we hope to welcome people again this year, especially those people who have never been before!”
