Saturday’s trails saw a return to Redmain for the third time this season.

Punters had a four-grade meeting to enjoy with 45 hounds turning out.

The seniors got things going with a field of 11 and current championship leader Silver Dream for Darren and Julie McMaster and Anthony Skelton was sent off as the favourite.

The hounds can be seen going down Millstone Moor finish after about 15 minutes when leading the way was Foxparke Honk Honk for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier and Brooke Butler with Silver Dream in second and Busy Again for Alan Blacklock and Carole Harrison in third.

There was then a five-yard gap to the chasing pack which was being led by Thorn Soul for Martin, Molly and Teddy Burrows and Sarah Jackson.

Just in behind were Malfunction for Sarah White and Croft Lass for Stanley, Carole and Sarah Jackson, Ricky Deacon and Donald Hodgson.

The hounds can then be seen from the trail field after 18 minutes running and the front four were unchanged with Croft Lass taking fifth from Thorn Soul.

Julie McMaster and Sadie Wilson with Silver Dream

These six hounds had established an advantage over the seventh hound which was Minnie Million for Brian, Joy and Cathy Lister.

As the hounds showed on the finish there were three hounds in contention and they had been the leading trio throughout.

However, in close pursuit was Croft Lass and she began to close the gap as they headed to the final jump.

As they jumped the last fence into the finish field Silver Dream and Busy Again had a good race to the line with Silver Dream getting the win by a length from Busy Again with Foxparke Honk Honk in third.

Croft Lass, after her late surge was fourth followed by Thorn Soul and Minnie Million.

The pups were next with a field of eight and Tucker for Nicola McMaster and Anthony Skelton was sent off as the favourite.

As the hounds dropped down Millstone Moor finish, Tucker was leading the way from Busy Rascal for Alan Blacklock and Carole Harrison with Foxparke Rita’s Rose for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier, Brooke Butler and Darren Clark in close pursuit.

They were being followed by I Am It for Ruth and Charlie Dixon in fourth.

Erin Rowlandson with Maggie

The hounds can then be seen from the trail field after 13 minutes running and leading the way over the road was Foxparke Rita’s Rose but she missed the fence allowing Tucker and Busy Rascal to take the lead with Maggie for Les and Graham Reid, Erin Rowlandson, Barbara Jones and Steven Walker taking over in third with Foxparke Rita’s Rose joining back in fourth.

Pied Piper for Tanya Satterwaite was fifth and I Am It in sixth.

As the hounds climbed over the fields out of sight Foxparke Rita’s Rose had returned to the front from Tucker.

When they were seen again on the finish Tucker was leading the way from I Am It and Busy Rascal with a 10 yard gap to Maggie in fourth.

As they began to drop into the final field the first three hounds ran a bit higher allowing Maggie to make ground up on them.

Then as they jumped the final fence Tucker was leading from I Am It with Maggie in third and they had a good race to the line.

In the end the judge had to refer to the camera to give the race to Maggie by a head from Tucker with I Am It in third.

Busy Rascal was fourth from Foxparke Rita’s Rose and Let It Be for Ruth and Charlie Dixon.

The Open Non Winners trail was contested by a field of 11 and Affirmation for Andrew Bulman, Laura Steele and Gary Woodend as well as Minnie for Les and Graham Reid, Erin Rowlandson, Barbara Jones and Steven Walker were sent off as joint favourites.

As the hounds dropped down Millstone Moor finish Foxparke Pip Pip for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier, Brooke Butler and Donald Hodgson was leading the way from Minnie and Affirmation.

Foxparke Cheese and Beans for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier, Brooke Butler and Glenis Farren was lying fourth.

The hounds can then be seen from the trail field after about 13 minutes running and Foxparke Pip Pip was still leading the way from Affirmation with Minnie in third and a five-yard gap to Foxparke Cheese and Beans.

They were followed by Lucky Legend for Lisa and Holly Whitefield.

Tania Satterthwaite with Swamp Fox

As they showed on the finish three had gone 50 yards clear of the chasing pack.

When they jumped the last Foxparke Pip Pip finished best to win by three lengths from Affirmation and Minnie with Lucky Legend fourth  ahead of Foxparke Cheese and Beans and Thorn Bee for Martin, Molly and Teddy Burrows.

The final race of the day was for the Open Restricted and 15 were slipped with Dream Catcher for Cathy, Joy and Brian Lister sent off as the favourite.

The hounds were seen passing the trail field after 13 minutes running and a group of four had a small advantage.

Ruby led for Stephen Riley and Isla Hetherington ahead of Swamp Fox for Tanya Satterthwaite.

Lily, for Barbara Jones, was in third ahead of Milo Moon for Carolyn, Tracey and Derek Hill in fourth.

Foxparke Sassy Girl for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier, and Brooke Butler was beginning to chase down the leading pack with kennel mates Tesla and Flecky Jack for Donna, Shaun, Becky and Luke Hetherington in sixth and seventh.

When they showed on the finish there was a line of hounds racing well with Ruby leading the way from Lily, Swamp Fox, Cracking Artist for Bill and Pat Mellon, and Wak and Tina Airey, Milo Moon and Foxparke Sassy Girl.

As they jumped the final fence Swamp Fox had hit the front and went on to claim the win by two lengths from a very fast finishing Foxparke Sassy Girl who came from sixth place.
