A 12-day road closure will be in place in north Cumbria from Monday for improvement work.
Contractors are set to start work in Longtown on the C1003, between the A7 and Longtown Primary School, from Monday until Friday August 15, excluding weekends.
Workers will be on site from 8am to 4pm but the road closure will in place at all times, with access restricted to residents only.
Pedestrian and emergency services access will be maintained at all times and waste collections will not be affected.
A signed diversion route will be in place.
Cumberland Council said the work would be in phases to help minimise disruption wherever possible.
