Carlisle City earned their second point of the season last night with another home draw.
But they needed a stoppage time goal to square the clash with Northallerton at 2-2.
Kelvin James rounded off a fine personal contribution with his second goal after 94 minutes.
Northallerton had started the season with a 4-1 home win over Crook Town while City had opened with a 0-0 draw against title favourites Shildon.
It was never a classic game but City deserved a lot of credit for sticking at it and earning the point so late in the game.
Acting boss Mark Boyd thought a draw was probably a fair result.
A rather fortunate goal from Joe Kitching had given the visitors the lead on 26 minutes, but James cancelled that out eight minutes into the second half.
Alistair Banks restored Northallerton’s lead after 71 minutes but in a frantic finish James levelled in a goalmouth scramble to snatch a point for the Cumbrians.
