Kendal United’s first team have secured their place in a fourth consecutive Westmorland County FA Invitation Trophy final.
It follows an impressive 4-2 victory over Cartmel & District at Allithwaite Playing Fields.
The team delivered a dominant first-half performance, establishing a commanding 4-0 lead within just 35 minutes.
Goals from James Thornley, Brody Moffatt, Lewis Airey and Jordan Archer-Nelson effectively sealed the victory before half-time.
Despite a more challenging second half that allowed Cartmel to pull two goals back, Kendal United maintained their composure to secure their passage to the final.
The victory comes at the end of a positive pre-season campaign that has seen the team record victories over Caton United and Endmoor KGR, while also delivering a strong performance against higher-level opposition, Kendal Town.
James Pattison, Kendal United first team manager, said: “I am incredibly proud of the boys for reaching our fourth consecutive final.
“The way we started the match was outstanding, playing some excellent football that really showcased what this team is capable of. While the second half was not quite at the same standard, the important thing is that we got the job done and we can now look forward to another final.”
The final will see Kendal United face Appleby in mid-September.

Last season proved to be particularly successful for the club, as they secured promotion to the West Lancashire Football League Division One, won the Invitation Trophy, and reached the final of the Westmorland County FA Senior Cup.
Stuart Holden, chair of Kendal United, said: “To reach four consecutive finals demonstrates the consistency and quality that James and his team have built within this squad.
“The players have shown tremendous commitment, and this success reflects the positive culture we have established at the club. We are all looking forward to the final and continuing our excellent momentum into the new season.”

Manager Pattison has successfully retained the core group of players from last season’s successful campaign, while also welcoming back George Key to the club and securing the signing of Michael Caulfield. Both players featured in Tuesday evening’s victory and are expected to play important roles in the upcoming season.
The team now faces the exciting challenge of competing in the West Lancashire Football League Division One for the first time.
Kendal United will begin their new league campaign with an away fixture against Askam United on Saturday, August 2, before welcoming supporters to Castle Drive for their first home match on Tuesday August 5 against Slyne.
