A new director has joined the family-run AB Energy Centre.

David Forster has been appointed as operations director the company, based near Brampton, joining Ben and Andy Fisher on the board.

AB Energy Centre was founded in 2015 as a biomass maintenance firm and has grown steadily.

In recent years, the business has expanded its expertise into renewable energy installation companies in the region, with over 2,500 solar panels installed in the last two years.

David joined AB Energy Centre in April 2022 as operations manager.

The firm said: “In just three years, he has overseen the growth of the service and maintenance division from around 300 regular clients to over 550, ensuring that expansion has never come at the expense of quality.

“With a family farming background, David has a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by agricultural businesses.

“This insight fits perfectly with AB Energy Centre’s extensive work supporting farms, estates, and rural enterprises with heating, power, and efficiency solutions.”

He said: “I’m honoured to take on this role and help shape the future of AB Energy Centre. Our focus on renewable technologies is stronger than ever, and I’m excited to continue broadening our solutions to meet the needs of rural customers – whether that’s keeping a farm warm in winter, lowering bills for a care home, or making an off-grid property more self-sufficient.”

His new role will see him lead the maintenance division, oversee the engineering team, and spearhead the introduction of new services such as heat pump installations, bio-oil heating systems, and rainwater harvesting maintenance.

Managing director Ben added: “Dave’s leadership has been instrumental in our growth. He has a clear commitment to customer service and high standards, which perfectly reflects our company values.

“As we continue to expand into new technologies and services, his operational focus will help us maintain our reputation as a trusted provider of rural heat and power solutions in the region.”

AB Energy Centre designs, installs, and maintains a range of renewable energy systems, including commercial and domestic biomass boilers, solar PV installations, and servicing for more than 50 renewable technology brands.

Clients include farms, care homes, rural estates, hotels, swimming pools, and off-grid homes.
