Workington A clinch title in West Cumbria Fours League

Workington A have clinched the title in the West Cumbria Fours League.

They have a 10-point lead over second-place Whitehaven A and cannot be overtaken.

The Whitehaven team has only one game to play and Fitz Park, who have two games to play, trail by 15 points. 

The league is sponsored by Whitehaven Trophies.

Results from August 15: Cleator Moor 5 Seaton 2; Vulcan Park 2 Maryport 5; Workington B 0 Whitehaven A 7; Fitz Park 0 Workington A 7.

League standings (games played and points): Workington A 13-78, Whitehaven A 15-68, Fitz Park 14-61, Cleator Moor 13-55, Maryport 15-55, Seaton 14-42, Workington B 14-34, Vulcan Park 14-26, Whitehaven B 12-22.

In the West Cumbria Triples League, recent results have been: Seaton 4 Whitehaven A 5; Seascale 0 Workington A 9; Workington B 8 Harris Park A 1; Whitehaven B 7 Egremont 2; Harris Park B 0 Wigton 9; Cleator Moor 4 Maryport 5; Vulcan Park 5 Croft 4; Seaton 3 Workington B 6; Wigton 8 Whitehaven B 1.
