
Saturday saw a return to Shap for a four-race card in which 34 hounds turned out on the afternoon.
The visibility was clear and the weather was holding off nicely as the Seniors set-off with just six runners.
Sportsman, for Willie and Craig Mark, was sent-off as the odds-on favourite at 4/7.
Punters were expecting a good race with table topper Silver Dream for Darren and Julie McMaster and Anthony Skelton also running against current runner up Sportsman.

Reports came in from the puppy split and Sportsman was leading the race by a length from Silver Dream with Summer Spirit, also for Willie and Craig Mark in third and a small gap to Flecky Jack for Donna, Shaun, Becky and Luke Hetherington.
When they showed on the finish three had broken clear and Sportsman finished well to claim his 16th senior win of the season.
Table leader Silver Dream was second and Summer Spirit finished third.

There was a small gap to Flecky Jack who was ahead of Meadow Lane for Paul and Joanne Airey and Minnie Million Brian, Joy and Cathy Lister.
The pups had even less taking part with just four slipped and Tucker for Nicola McMaster and Anthony Skelton was sent off as the odds-on favourite at 2/5.
As they appeared onto the finish Tucker and Denton Phantom for Lee, Hayley, George and Joey Wall, Sandra Mordue and Ted Storrows had developed a lead and had a good race to the line.
In the end Tucker got the win by half a length from Denton Phantom to claim his tenth success of the season.
There was a small gap to the chasing two hounds with Degsy Moon for Carolyn, Tracey, and Derrick Hill finishing in front of Sullivan’s Mist for Gary Woodend.
The Open Non Winners had nine runners and Mr Mally for George Burgon and Carole Logan was sent off as the even money favourite.
When they appeared on the finish Mr Mally had established a lead and finished well to claim the victory.

Huntsman’s Delight for Jim, Anne, Alan and Adrian Little was second with Chapel Lad for Ian Fleet, Jayne Peterson, and Oliver, Eleanor and Liam Chisholm in third.
Spring Gardener for Jenny Horn was fourth and Lucky Legend for Lisa and Holly Whitefield took fifth.
The final ticket went to TikTok for Anna and Kerry Lindsay and Janie McAulay.
The final trail of the day and the largest was the Open Maidens with a field of 15 involved.
Discover for Anna and Kerry Lindsay was sent off as the 6/4 favourite.
As they appeared onto the finish it was three litter mates battling it out.
All out of the Sweet Harmony/Sir Robert mating.
In the end Discover claimed the win by two lengths from Senor and Senorita in second and third for Malcolm Holmes.
Spring Return for Jenny Horn finished in fourth and Chapel Stile for Ian Fleet and Jayne Peterson was fifth.
The final ticket went to Inspect for Anna and Kerry Lindsay and Emmie McAulay to round off a good day for the young team.
