
A 19-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital following a collision in the Lake District.
Cumbria police were called at around 6.15pm on Monday 25 August, to the report of a single vehicle collision in the area of Martindale, near Ullswater.
A 19-year-old male passenger was airlifted to the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough in a critical but stable condition.
The driver, a 19-year-old man, and another passenger, also a 19-year-old man, were taken to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary with minor injuries.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service said: “On Monday, the GNAAS critical care team was activated at 6.22pm. A paramedic and doctor on board the GNAAS aircraft arrived on scene at 6.35pm.
“The team worked alongside the North West Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient and airlifted them to hospital.”
