
A teenage boy has been arrested following an incident of criminal damage at a church in Barrow.
Barrow Police attended the Methodist church, on Hartington Street, at around 1pm yesterday, Tuesday 26 August, after receiving a report of criminal damage to the building.
The teenager has been arrested on suspicion of religiously aggravated criminal damage and enquiries remain ongoing.
Officers said they were aware of speculation online regarding their attendance at the church yesterday.
People are asked to be aware that there may be an increased police presence in the area today, Wednesday August 27, as officers carry out enquiries.
Police said they will also be installing extra CCTV cameras to help prevent and detect crime in the local community.
