Midweek matches for West Cumberland Sunday League

The West Cumberland Sunday League fitted in midweek matches, all in Division One.

Just three games but they produced 26 goals between them.

Two of the winners rattled in eight goals, with the clearest victory by Senhouse Street who beat the Zebras 8-1.

Leon Wharrier led the way with a hat-trick, backed-up Gary O’Driscoll (2), Dean Anderson, Anthony Zajac and Ollie Arkles.

Zebras lone response came from Ellis Graham.

Sun Inn Athletic were the other side to hit eight but their win over Maryport Amateurs was a little bit closer.

It finished 8-4 with Matty Housby (2), Bradley Williamson, Jason Donald, Luke Day, Dale Walker and Keenan Hayton finding the net for the Athletic.

Evergreen Steven Stoddart scored a hat-trick for Maryport and Dan Elsworth also found the net.

Sun Inn first team were also in action and they won 4-0 at the Swan.

The goals came from Kris Nichol (2), Dan Pearson and Louie Elliott.

  • Premier Division – Moresby Rangers v Deer Orchard; Northside v Lowca Pirates; Thornhill v The Sun.
  • Division One – King’s Arms v Sun Inn Athletic; Maryport Amateurs v Zebras;  Sun Inn v Senhouse Street; Swan v Royal Oak.
