In the West Cumbria Fours League just two outstanding fixtures were played last Friday.

It now means that all the teams have now completed their 16 games in the Whitehaven Trophies-sponsored league.

At Keswick, Fitz Park, needing at least six points to ensure a third place finish, took on Maryport and won 7-0.

It was mathematically possible for Fitz Park to secure second place, but that needed Whitehaven A to suffer a heavy defeat in their final game against Whitehaven B.

As it happens, Whitehaven A won 7-0 to finish second.

The final league standings (all teams played 16 games): Workington A 95.5, Whitehaven A 78, Fitz Park 73, Cleator Moor 71, Maryport 54, Seaton 44, Workington B 34, Whitehaven B 27.5, Vulcan Park 26.

In the West Cumbria Mixed Triples League the results for games played on Tuesday, August 26 were: Wigton 5 Cleator Moor 4; Maryport 9 Egremont 0; Harris Park B 5 Whitehaven A 4; Whitehaven B 5 Croft 4.

Result from 28 August: Vulcan Park 3 Wigton 6.

League standings (Games played and points): Maryport 13-86, Whitehaven A 12-67, Wigton 12-67, Workington A 10-66, Workington B 10-61, Cleator Moor 13-59, Croft 13-57, Harris Park A 13-52, Seascale 13-46, Harris Park B 13-46, Vulcan Park 12-46, Seaton 12-43, Egremont 13-42, Whitehaven B 13-35.
