Kendal Town will welcome a week’s break with no league fixtures after Saturday’s FA Cup exit.
They had some notable absentees against Dunston through injuries and holidays but weren’t making excuses for the 1-0 defeat.
The NPL East team, who play a league above the Mintcakes were a well-organised, very capable outfit.
The only goal of the contest was scored two minutes from half-time by Phil Turnbull.
Kendal did get the ball in the net but it was ruled offside – a very marginal decision.
They also had a lot of pressure in the closing stages when Dunston had a man sent off but couldn’t break down a solid defence.
They can now prepare for Saturday’s League trip to Guisborough which brings a clash of fifth versus sixth in the table.
