
A man in his 80s was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in north Cumbria.
Emergency services were called to Penton, near Longtown, on Saturday, August 30 at around 8.50am.
Cumbria police said it was reported that it involved a man and a vehicle, and there was no third party involvement.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service said: “We had a paramedic and doctor on a rapid response vehicle and they arrived on scene at 8.38am.
“After assessing the patient’s injuries, they requested assistance from our North East team who responded on a helicopter.
“We had a paramedic and doctor on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 9.21am.
“They worked together to treat the patient before airlifting them to hospital.”
The man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
