A rise in inconsiderate parking has been reported around schools in Eden.
Eden Police said it is urging people to take the time to park safely and that offenders will be dealt with appropriately.
A spokesperson said: “There has been an increase in inconsiderate parking around schools with the start of a new school year.
“The single/double yellow lines and zigzag lines are put in place to protect children from car drivers parking in inappropriate areas around the school.
“Unlike adults, children cannot see over vehicles to see what is coming and are often in blind spots around a vehicle.
“Some schools are also having problems with drivers blocking pavements forcing those with pushchairs into the road. If the road is too narrow to park without blocking the pavement, it’s not a safe place to park.
“Please take the time to park in a safe place and potentially save a life.”
