
Police are investigating after a man shouted abuse at a young man and pushed him off his mobility scooter in Barrow.
Officers are treating it as a hate-related incident.
It happened next to the Channelside Haven entrance, opposite the Crowns Nest Hotel on North Road on Wednesday August 27, between 11.30am and 12.30pm.
The young man was approaching Jubilee Bridge, travelling on the pavement, when a man shouted verbal abuse at him, before pushing the victim off his mobility scooter.
No injuries were sustained but this had a considerable impact on the victim, police said.
The suspect is described as a white man wearing glasses, aged in mid 30s-40s and had a deep sounding voice.
Police would like to speak with two men on bikes who are thought to have been in the area at the time and saw the incident.
They are described as white and in their early to mid 20s. One was wearing a grey jacket, and one had brown hair.
Officers are searching for any witnesses and information regarding this incident.
