Chris Moyles will be broadcasting his breakfast show from Whitehaven this week – and tonight will play a DJ set at a town pub.

As part of the celebrations to mark 10 years of the show on X Radio, he will be visiting multiple locations in the Massive Decade Tour, including the Beacon Museum in Whitehaven tomorrow, Thursday, September 18.

Tonight, from 6pm, he will be appearing at Joe Bananas on Duke Street.

The pub said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the good folk of Whitehaven to experience the world-renowned presenter and DJ in an intimate, live setting. Attendees can expect an anthem-filled 90s hangover-style set , completely free.

“It’s a rare chance to see a broadcaster who has been a mainstay of UK radio for decades, from BBC Radio 1 to his current home at Radio X, performing up close and personal for the Whitehaven community.”

The event is first-come-first-served.

Moyles’ producer James Robinson is from Whitehaven and Moyles DJed at Whitehaven Alive in 2022.

When announcing the tour, he called Whitehaven ‘Brownhaven’ in reference to the town’s discoloured water in the harbour.

The Beacon said: “The Beacon team can’t wait to welcome Chris Moyles and the Radio X crew as they broadcast their morning show from 6.30am to 10am.”

It is a closed studio with no audience participation.
