Penrith and Kendal have matching records with their respective opponents in tomorrow’s latest round of Regional 1 North East fixtures.
Penrith travel to Driffield with both having won their opening two fixtures.
On the other hand Kendal make the trip to York with both sides still to open their accounts.
Penrith and Driffield are among five clubs who have won both their games.
Driffield sit second on scoring differential (+ 50) while Penrith lie fifth (+ 22).
Last week while Penrith were doing well to edge Harrogate 26-24, tomorrow’s hosts were winning 34-20 at Middlesbrough.
Kendal are 8th in the table with just one losing bonus point for last week’s 27-23 defeat at home to Ilkley.
York played Ilkley away in their first game of the season, picking-up their single point for scoring four tries in a 54-31 defeat.
York sit two places below the Mint Bridge side with a scoring differential of minus 48 compared to Kendal’s minus 21.
There was a general feeling that Kendal could and probably should have won against Ilkley, but mistakes at crucial moments meant it slipped away from them.
Ollie Rose and Dan Shorrock scored the Kendal tries with Evan Moir doing the kicking.
In Regional Two North there’s yet another derby clash for Keswick.
After beating Upper Eden and then narrowly losing to Aspatria, the Lakesiders have Wigton as their visitors to Davidson Park.
It was a remarkable effort last week by the Keswick club fielding two teams even though up to 25 players were unavailable.
There won’t be many, if any Cumbrian clubs, who could do that.
Wigton also lost narrowly to Aspatria before a lack of discipline cost them in their home game with Guisborough.
Simon Barker is the man in the middle.
Upper Eden got off the mark last week with a very good 32-22 home win against Morpeth after the opening day defeat at Keswick.
They travel to Consett tomorrow with their hosts smarting from a 50-19 defeat at Sunderland, which had followed a 64-20 home defeat to Northern.
Aspatria sit a point behind leaders Northern in second spot after two games.
Both wins have been too close for comfort and they face their first trip out of the county when they head to Morpeth.
