Penrith’s Voreda House will reopen next week.
The Westmorland & Furness Council building had to close on Wednesday after an overnight leak caused significant damage to the first floor and areas of the ground floor.
It will reopen on Monday, September 22, at 9am.
The council said the reception area, customer interview rooms and Patterdale Room, where public meetings are held, were unaffected.
While the first floor remains off limits, the second floor will be reopened to staff.
A council spokesman said: “The swift reopening of the building is only possible because of the dedication and skill of our teams who have risen to the challenge.
“This is an initial response to get us back open and available to the public again, and we will continue to review in coming weeks as we assess the damage and schedule for repairs.
“We would like to apologise to our residents and customers for any inconvenience caused by this enforced closure but we are pleased to be able to reopen in-person services after the weekend.”
