
Kells A won a thrilling CARL First Division top four final in extra time.
Against neighbours and long-time local rivals Hensingham A they edged a pulsating contest 38-32.
A try from Jamie Jennings in the first half of extra time converted by Ross Gainford won it.
Hensingham were fastest out of the blocks and built an early 10-0 lead before Kells came back to lead 16-14 at half-time.
Tries from Blaine Graham, Callum Kinrade and Ryan Starkie, two converted by Ryan Wood had edged Kells in front.
The tide seemed to have turned in the second-half when Hensingham led 32-26 but Ryan Starkie’s second try, converted by Gainford squared the tie and took it to extra time.
The other second-half tries for Kells were scored by Dan Starkie and Aaron Burns, the first converted by Wood.

Hensingham were always in the contest and scored tries through Jackson Smith (2), Luke Clements, Keir Starkie, Theo Crowe and Henley Donnan.
Olly Dunn kicked four goals.
The Kells forward Arban Pervizaj was named man of the match.

In the Premier Division top four semi final Maryport got through 42-10 at home to Lowca.
It set up a second game with Seaton in the final, and the pair are already set to clash in the Cumberland Cup final.

The Maryport tries were scored by Danny Herbert (2), Chris Ivison (2), Darren Pape, Scott Akehurst, Joel Baker and Ashley Smith.
Lewis Moore kicked three goals and Craig Foster added two.

For Lowca there were tries from Ashton Briscoe and Luke Stockton. Billy Penrice added a conversion.
