A Carlisle shoplifter has been banned from Carlisle stores for five years.
Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Team secured the criminal behaviour order against Danielle Nicholson, 36, of Mayfield Avenue in the city.
Police said she had targeted local businesses.
The order was secured yesterday, September 29, at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court.
She is not allowed to enter any store part of the Carlisle Shop Watch Scheme and cannot to enter the Co-op in Central Avenue or the Co-op in Denton Holme.
PC Daniel Fisher, of Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Nicholson has shown little regard for the rule of law and will now have the conditions imposed on her for a period of five years.
“I hope this order goes some way in showing retailers and those who choose to set up businesses in Carlisle that your neighbourhood team will continue to show a contempt for criminality to support our wider aims of keeping our communities safe for all who choose to live and work here.
“Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to target those who look to cause anti-social behaviour and criminality in our estates and centres.”
Breaches of the conditions of an order can lead to an arrest and punishment can be up to five years in prison.
Nicholson does not need to have committed any offences while in the shops to breach to order.
Anyone with any information regarding breaches can contact police via 101 or 999 in an emergency.
