It’s Tate Zischke’s turn to shine on the world stage tonight.
Zischke watched Workington team-mate Antti Vuolas top-score for Finland on Wednesday in the Speedway of Nations semi-final in Torun.
Tonight’s event is the FIM Speedway of Nations 2, also at Torun, which spotlights the young, up and coming stars of the sport.
Ipswich and Glasgow star Dan Thompson leads Great Britain in his final year of Under-21 competition, and he will team up in Poland with former Comet Luke Harrison (King’s Lynn and Scunthorpe) and Oxford’s Luke Killeen.
Other current UK regulars in the meeting include Australian duo Mitch McDiarmid (Oxford) and Zischke (Belle Vue/Workington), German captain Norick Blodorn, and Glasgow’s Danish youngster Villads Nagel
Thompson said: “I’m delighted to be named in the SON2 meeting and honoured to lead the team as captain.
“This is my final year as an U21 rider and my last SON2 appearance – we’ll be giving it everything.”
