Seaton made it one apiece in their Cumberland ARL trilogy with rivals Maryport.
They won a hard-fought Firpress Printers Cumberland Cup final at Glasson by 8-6.
In desperate conditions it became a war of attrition and as so often happens in these circumstances scoring was kept to a minimum.
Maryport had played against the strong wind in the first half and started positively with three successive sets on the Seaton line.
The villagers held them out, though, and gradually came into the contest.
After 10 minutes they broke the deadlock with a try from Connor McCrickard which was converted by Ciaran Walker.
The game was nip and tuck for the rest of the half with the only addition to the score being a penalty on 35 minutes from Walker.
Would eight points be enough in the conditions and as it turned out they were.
Try as they might Maryport just couldn’t break the Seaton defensive wall until the 70th minute.
Keenan Winter nipped over for the try, converted by Lewis Moore to set up a tense climax.
Seaton held on to land the silverware but both sets of players will be battered and bruised today after giving their all in the cause.
Seaton prop and captain Lewis Brown was named man of the match, while the trophy was presented by Paul Williamson, of sponsors Firpress Printers.
Maryport had won the Premier Division championship play-off in the first leg of their trilogy.
The third one, to complete the season, will be the Top Four Playoff final at the Fibrus Community Stadium on Friday, October 17.
