Penrith lost their unbeaten record last week but still gained plenty of positive vibes.
They went down 59-36 at Winters Park to Regional 1 North East leaders Heath.
Picking up a four try bonus point was the least they deserved for a brave effort against a very powerful Halifax side.
Heath, favourites to win the title, are one of three unbeaten sides after four games. Penrith had been the fourth until Saturday.
Now they have to travel to Ilkley, one of the other 100% sides and fresh from a 60-10 mauling of Middlesbrough last week.
Ilkley have actually scored more points than Heath – 183 to 181 – but have conceded more – 88 to 69.
Kendal have already played all the top three in a tough start to the campaign.
They put up a particularly good effort at third-placed Alnwick before going down 27-19.
They will be looking to start picking up some wins now and are at home tomorrow to Sandal, the side immediately below them in the table.
It’s eighth against ninth with just a point between them.
They are actually travelling on the back of their first win – 21-14 at home to York, the team below them in tenth.
In some sort of form guide Kendal also registered their only win against York (18-7) bit was away from home.
Cumbria’s four teams in Regional Two North all have away fixtures tomorrow.
Tightest of all could be Aspatria’s trip to West Hartlepool – fifth hosting fourth and two points between them.
Tightening defence would seem to be Aspatria’s main issue as of the 12 teams in then League only two have conceded more than the Black Reds.
One of those are neighbours Wigton, who gave an improved effort in defeat last week at home to Percy Park .
However, the Greens have a testing trip to Morpeth tomorrow.
Keswick had to call off their game last week as they suffered from Storm Amy but will be hopeful of making a winning return at Consett.
Upper Eden, beaten 26-18 at home by West Hartlepool last week, are on the road to Durham City this time.
They are a place below their hosts in the table (9th to 8th) but three points adrift.
Simon Barker from the Cumbria Society will referee.
In Counties One Cumbria two of the three 100% sides meet at the Playground – Whitehaven v Hawcoat Park and Martin Denvir is the referee.
Leaders Carlisle should have been at home against Millom but that game has been postponed.
The other matches are: Kirkby Lonsdale v Keswick 2nds (Cieran Trainor); Cockermouth v Egremont (Craig Price); Penrith 2nds v St Benedict’s (Jonny Watson); Workington v Windermere (Lee Jones); Ambleside v Creighton (Mike Firby).
