West Cumbrian star Richard Lawson has earned a huge tribute from his Poole manager Neil Middleditch.
The Pirates number one had picked up an unbeaten double display in the MAXiCab KO Cup Final against Redcar Bears.
Lawson scored a paid maximum in the first leg before adding the full 15 in the return at the ECCO Arena 48 hours later as he continued a run of stunning consistency for the Pirates.
The results came shortly after the birth of his first child, and he and his manager now have their sights set on yet more silverware in the closing stages of the campaign, with Middleditch looking to extend an incredible total since he took charge still further.
Middleditch said: “What a phenomenon Richard Lawson is. Unbeaten in this Cup Final and quite simply a points machine. He is just unbelievable.
“I’ve worked with some great riders in my time and okay, I know we are in a lower league now, but he is phenomenal on the track and I have total respect for him.
“It is quite impressive, isn’t it, to have 32 trophies and a couple more to shoot at this season!”
Lawson, 39, started his speedway career in 2009 at Derwent Park after switching from Moto-X.
His father Steve, currently a co-promoter with the Comets, had been a star rider for Workington and Glasgow.
