Cumbrian motocross riders stormed to victory in a prestigious competition featuring some of the best in the sport.
Team Cumbria were taking part in the Northern Team Challenge for the fourth year and faced seven teams from across the UK.
They claimed the championship after five thrilling races over two days at Sherwood in Nottingham.
This year’s team line-up was stacked with talent. West Cumbria’s own Dan Bewley, a world-class speedway rider, joined the squad and lit up the track with his trademark speed and control.
They were also joined by Brad Anderson, a four-time European champion and a dominant figure in motocross.
Team manager Daniel Logan said: “After four years of determination — with two third-place finishes and a second-place podium — Team Cumbria finally clinched the top step and brought the trophy home.
“We’ve worked so hard for this over the years. To finally bring the trophy home to Cumbria is an incredible feeling.
“The races tested every ounce of skill, speed, and teamwork.”
Last year, Team Cumbria featured local rider Brad Todd — and next year he’ll be heading to America to take on the US motocross scene.
Team Cumbria thanked local sponsors for backing the riders and the team.
Logan added: “Nothing would be possible without their incredible support — their contribution is at the heart of this success story.
“With the Northern Team Challenge trophy now proudly in Cumbria’s hands, the team is already looking forward to defending their title next year — and inspiring the next generation of local riders along the way.
“A big well done and thank you to each and every person that raced as part of Team Cumbria from all the kids right up to the veteran riders! We couldn’t have done it without them.”
