Whitehaven have signed winger Dave Eccleston for a second spell at The Ortus Rec.
Eccleston scored 14 tries in 46 appearances in his first spell with the club between 2022 and 2023.
He re-joins Haven having spent the last two seasons at neighbours Workington Town.
Eccleston played his academy rugby at St Helens before making the move to North Wales Crusaders in 2019 being coached by current Haven coach Anthony Murray before making the move to Cumbria back in 2022 and signing for the club under Jonty Gorley.
It was Murray who persuaded him to sign for Town while he was coaching there.
On his return to Haven, Murray said: “I’ve had the privilege of coaching Dave over a number of seasons, so I know exactly what he brings to the team. “He’s an experienced winger who does the tough yards, makes the hard metres, and consistently puts the team first.
“His work rate, attitude and professionalism are top class, and it’s great to have him back in the squad.
“He’s a proven performer who knows what it means to represent the club.”
