Emergency services were called when a passer-by spotted someone cut off by the tide in South Cumbria.
Furness Coastguard Rescue Team, Barrow RNLI, police and the ambulance service were called yesterday, Friday October 24.
It had been reported a person was cut off by the tide between Foulney Island and the Roa Island causeway.
Police and paramedics attended in case the person was injured or distressed.
Barrow RNLI launched its inshore rescue boat and a member of the RNLI team spoke to the person.
They had realised it was unsafe to cross back to the causeway and was happy to wait for the tide to drop.
Furness Coastguard Recue Team said: “The Coastguard remained on scene until they had safely crossed the flooded area, the rest of the emergency services stood down.
“While the person knew to remain above the water level and wait for the tide to drop, the first informant did not know this. They did the right thing and called us out.”
