Two people in their 80s were found dead at an address in Cumbria.

Police said an investigation was ongoing into the unexplained deaths.

Officers were called at 3pm on Thursday, October 23, by a member of the public reporting the discovery of two people, aged in their 80s, dead at an address in Grune Point Close, Skinburness, near Silloth.

Officers have been at the address since this time.

Detective Chief Inspector Paddy McDonnell said: “Cumbria police commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the deaths since Thursday afternoon carrying out significant enquiries since that time.

“We are working closely with the coroner for Cumbria seeking to understand what has occurred.

“While the investigation so far does not support third-party or criminal involvement, officers are keeping an open mind and are continuing to work to establish the circumstances leading to their deaths.”

Whilst detectives continue with their enquiries, they would encourage anyone who has any information which may assist to come forward.
