A Duke of Edinburgh supervisor was rescued after injuring her ankle on a Lake District fell.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called out to the Borrowdale fells on Sunday October 26 at 11.12am.
A group of Duke of Edinburgh Award students had just met with one of their supervisors above Watendlath, when she slipped on boggy ground and heard a crack in her ankle.
Unable to continue walking, the supervisor provided the students with a lesson in how to call out mountain rescue.
The Keswick team approached from Watendlath, administered pain relief, splinted her ankle and stretchered the woman back to the road before transporting her back to base to rendezvous with an ambulance.
The incident lasted two hours and 48 minutes and involved 16 team members.
The Lake District’s Mountain Rescue teams are made up entirely of volunteers.
