
West Cumbrians are invited to talk about community resilience – from weather emergencies to how crime is dealt with – at a meeting next week.
People from the Cumberland Council wards of Bothel and Wharrels, Cockermouth North, Cockermouth South, Dearham and Broughton, Keswick, Maryport North and Maryport South are invited to the meeting on Wednesday.
It will take place at Cockermouth Town Hall from 5.30pm to 7pm.
The wards are known as the Lakes to Sea area within the authority.
Representatives from the council, including officers and councillors, police and other emergency services will attend.
Topics will include:
- Community resilience – how the council, emergency services and the community respond together to emergencies like extreme weather or power outages.
- Winter crime prevention – insights and advice from Cumbria police.
- Environmental crime reporting – learn about the council’s new system for reporting issues.
No booking is required, and teas and coffees will be provided.
