South Cumbrian community project targeted – police investigating

Police are investigating a number of incidents reported at a South Cumbrian community project – including a suspected shed arson.

Allotment Soup is an Art Gene community growing project on Mill Lane in Walney Island.

Sheds have been broken into and items taken including axes, petrol, bolt cutters and crowbars etc. Nothing of high value has been taken, police said.

There also has been an incident where one of the sheds at the allotment was set on fire.

These incidents are happening between 9pm and 7am, police said.

No suspects have been seen or identified.

Police are looking for any witness or information relating to these ongoing issues.
