A steam train will be travelling through Cumbria today.
The Duke of Gloucester steam engine is due to arrive in Carlisle at 2.20pm today, Thursday November 6.
The engine was built in 1954 and was originally a prototype. Its design flaws led to poor performance but it was saved from the scrapyard and restored.
This is the first public steam tour hauled by the British Rail 71000 engine following a recent overhaul.
It is owned and operated by a charitable trust, the R Standard Class 8 Steam Locomotive Trust.
