Evri has apologised for not ‘meeting its high standards’ in Cumbria, after dozens of readers shared delivery problems with us.
It added that it has also replaced its previous delivery partner in the region and there was ‘a marked improvement already.’
The firm told us it was working to redeliver a small number of packages that did not make it to their recipient.
We also revealed that Cumbria police received a report of an abandoned Evri courier parcel bag found in Egremont earlier this week, full of empty and torn open packages.
The bag has since been retrieved by Evri and officers said the firm is investigating the incident.
As a result, readers got in touch with us to share their experiences with Evri.
Cumbria Crack asked Evri if it was aware of problems in Cumbria and what it was doing to solve them.
However, it said it could not help us without Cumbria Crack supplying it with order tracking numbers so it could investigate.
We told Evri that we had several examples of people getting in touch with their experiences and images of parcel issues.
In response, they supplied this statement: “Customers are at the heart of what we do and we’re very sorry that our service in the local area hasn’t met our high standards.
“We have replaced our delivery partner previously operating in the region, with a marked improvement already seen as a result.
“Anyone who needs help with their parcel should contact our customer service team for support.”
What Cumbria Crack readers are telling us
Over 26 people got in touch with us this week to share their problems with delivery.
We’re sharing a few of their stories.
One reader claimed they found multiple parcels in Netherton, Maryport and shared an image with us, as pictured at the top of this article.
They also claimed they had ordered prescription dog meat that never turned up after it appeared as delivered in the tracking app.
They said: “I found parcels dumped in Netherton and had to hand them out.
“I cannot get a refund for my parcel as Evri are claiming they delivered it. But they didn’t.”
One person in the Gosforth, Ravenglass and Seascale area, claimed they have been experiencing issues with parcels going missing and turning up in the wrong place, but appearing as delivered, for over a year.
They said: “Evri told the supplier that they had delivered to what I had said was my ‘safe’ address.”
This is the picture that was sent to the supplier.

They added: “The supplier then says, your claim is denied, you have received your goods! This caused a lot of stress and hassle.
“If it had not been for eBay and Paypal making the matter good I, for one, would have lost quite a bit of money!”
A reader based in Wigton said: “I recently had a Pets at Home parcel go missing with Evri. Luckily, Pets at Home allowed me to reorder – at their expense – and convert this into a click and collect order.
“We always have problems with Evri where I live in Wigton. My neighbour had a parcel delivered to an unknown address, with a photo as ‘proof’ of delivery, showing someone else taking delivery of a parcel that wasn’t theirs.”
A West Cumbrian reader said: “I have a missing parcel which delivered by Evri. I ordered a fish tank from AliExpress and the estimate delivery date was October 5.
“But last week when I track the parcel by using the Evri app they said the parcel was already delivered on October 2.
“I didn’t receive any photo for the proof of delivery and I went to the depot and talked to the manager and she said the parcel may be lost but she said she can’t do anything for me.
“I can’t even get a refund because the seller said I don’t have any evidence.”
Another person in West Cumbria said: “I came home two weeks ago to five parcels on my step, none were mine, all were different people at different addresses. They were Evri.
“A white van was on my doorbell camera, a guy jumped out and threw them on my step and ran back to van and went.
“I put names on social media and managed to get the people their parcels.
“Evri need to sort it out. It’s not good enough. It is their responsibility to sort it out.”
Another person in Workington claimed: “We often have to take in deliveries on Cranbourne Street in Workington that Evri just leave on our neighbours’ doorsteps. It’s becoming ridiculous.”
One reader also claimed they have also been having similar issues in Carlisle and Longtown.
They said: “I have had at least 10 parcels undelivered because they couldn’t find the address. They park on Longtown police station forecourt which is opposite my house and the postcode covers only 10 houses on each side.
“Some have vanished completely and others have eventually been delivered after several attempts and me complaining to the Evri CEO and visiting the local office.
“The other problem is parcels are being dumped beside a random wall and photographed as delivered but not to recipient and no idea of where the wall is.
“This needs to be sorted as it is getting out of hand.”
One person in Egremont also claimed they are still awaiting a large parcel.
They said: “I was supposed to receive my parcel on the November 1 and I’m still waiting.
“It was an airfryer so not a small parcel. I’ve contacted the seller and going to investigate on there side of things. I’ve email Evri and no response as of yet!.”
Another person in St Bees claimed they had been experiencing issues for months.
They said: “We have had problems with Evri deliveries for months. We have had to reorder presents three and four times and had to go the delivery depot to try and find parcels.”
Another person claimed they had a parcel go out for delivery, but was later labelled as lost.
They said: “I had a Smeg toaster go missing, the driver said ‘no one was in so returned to depot.’
“I explained it was a business address and five people were in at stated time.
Evri said it would come back however after four days stated it was lost!
“I currently have three parcels ‘out for delivery’ with Evri.”
