
Sections of the M6 will be closed overnight from tomorrow for repair work on a Cumbrian bridge.
National Highways is continuing to work on Lowther Bridge, south of M6 Junction 40 near Penrith.
The road will be closed from 10pm to 6am tomorrow, Saturday, November 8 from Junction 39 at Shap to Junction 40 at Penrith.
The M6 will be closed from 10pm to 6am on Sunday, November 9 from Junction 40 at Penrith to Junction 39 at Shap.
A diversion route via the A6 will be in operation during the overnight closures.
Speed reduction measures along the A6 will also be in place.
Since work began earlier this year, National Highways has repaired sections of the bridge deck, added waterproofing and new expansion joints and installed scaffolding underneath the bridge for the next stage of repairs.
