Carlisle’s English Street will be closed on Monday for work to relocate bus shelters.
Cumberland Council said it would be closed between 9.30am and 5pm.
But, it added, if work was completed earlier, the road would reopen sooner.
Buses will be diverted.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the work.
