A walker suffered a significant leg injury after slipping on an acorn while out in the Lake District.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said they were called out on Saturday, November 8, at around 2.20pm to Otterbield Bay at Derwentwater.
The team said: “Out with family and friends on a Saturday hike our casualty ‘slipped on an acorn’ on the lakeside path.
“The fall resulted in a significant leg injury with many team members in disbelief at the stoic resolve of the casualty.
“The team attended and reduced the fracture before splinting and evacuating the casualty from the lakeside for onward transport to hospital.”
