Hayden Mostyn had a key role in Sun Inn A’s top of the table clash.

Sun Inn A team moved clear at the top of the Aspatria Pool League after a clash between the leading two teams.

Throstle A (Wigton) had home advantage over the Sun when they locked horns, level at the top of the standings.

Sun Inn went into an early 3-0 lead but all three games could have gone either way, with good chances for both teams.

Throstle A then pulled it back to 2-3, before an excellent finish in frame six from Hayden Mostyn made It 4-2 to the Sun.

Again Throstle pulled it back to a one frame deficit before Sun Inn’s Andrew Henderson and Luke Kershaw clinched the match with a good clearance in frame eight.

In the end the table-topping clash finished Throstle A 3, Sun Inn 6.

Sun Inn B produced an impressive performance in beating Miners B by 7 frames to 2, which moved them up to second in the league.

Throstle B came through a tight match against Letters B with a 5-4 win which keeps them positioned in the top half of the league.

Wigton Rugby Club produced a great comeback, after trailing 4-2 in the singles against Letters A, won all three doubles for a 5-4 scoreline in their favour.

Wigton Park B.C continued their recent good form with a convincing 7-2 win over Cumberland A.

Cumberland B also had an impressive 8-1 win over Greyhound Inn, who still remain bottom of the league without a win.
