A man was due to appear in court on a drugs charge after police stopped a car in South Cumbria earlier this week.
James Hurst, 38, of Dunkirk Lane, Leyland, Lancashire has been charged with possession with intent to supply a class A drug after officers from Cumbria Police’s Roads Policing Unit stopped a vehicle on the A590 at around 10.15pm on Tuesday, November 11 and conducted a search.
Cocaine worth around £50,000 was found in the vehicle.
He was due to appear before Barrow Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning.
A second man was also arrested and he has been released under investigation as officers continue with their enquiries.
The investigation is being led by Cumbria Police officers in Westmorland and Furness Serious Organised Crime (CSOC) Unit and forms part of Operation Alliance, its response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
