The M6 will be closed southbound overnight in South Cumbria next week for essential repairs.
National Highways said the road will be closed between Junction 39 at Shap and Junction 36 at Kendal overnight on Wednesday, November 19 and Thursday November 20.
Contractors will be repairing the central reservation barrier following recent collisions, resurfacing, and fixing joints on two bridges at Castle Howe and Borrowbeck.
It will also be clearing leaves, to ensure the drainage is working well.
The road will be closed from 8pm to 5am on both days of work.
A signposted diversion route will be in place, directing road users from the M6 via the A6, A591 and A590 back on to the M6.
Drivers are also reminded that the first phase of the M6 junction 36 drainage improvements starts on Monday, November 17.
The work, separate to the emergency repairs, is expected to run until Thursday December 4.
One lane will be closed 24/7 in both directions around junction 36, with a 50mph speed limit in place.
