A Whitehaven RL record holder has been presented with his club heritage certificate in his native Australia.
Mike Pechey, now 57, met up with two Whitehaven supporters, Steve Nicholson and Mark Ryan, who are travelling in Australia.
Pechey made 65 appearances for Haven in his two seasons with the club scoring 50 tries.
His 34 tries during the 1994/95 season is still a club record.
After leaving Haven he had spells with Widnes, Hunslet, and in Super League with Warrington.
He then spent a season with Bedford RU alongside Martin Offiah and Cumbrian Steve McCurrie before returning to Australia in 1998.
After giving up rugby league and Mick took up his other passion boxing and a successful second sporting career ended with him being crowned Queensland heavyweight champion.
He now lives in Pyrmont, Sydney and works for the family construction business.
