People have the chance to find out more about United Utilities’ plans to build a new water storage tank in West Cumbria.
The firm wants to build the 600m3 storage tank at a site off Dalzell Street in Keekle, near Whitehaven.
It said it would cut the number of times that the storm overflow in the village operated during periods of heavy rainfall and would help improve water quality in the River Keekle.
As well as the storage tank, the company wants to install a new kilometre rising main that would run along Keekle Terrace.
Main construction work is expected to start in spring next year, with the project due to be completed in 2028.
People are encouraged to find out more at a drop-in event being held on Monday, December 1, at Keekle Village Hall between 2pm and 7pm.
