Top sides drawn apart in Fred Conway County Cup

The four top ranked sides left in the Fred Conway County Cup have been drawn apart in the quarter finals.

Holders Carlisle City will entertain Windscale of the Wearside League, while fellow Northern League neighbours Penrith travel to Cleator Moor Celtic of the West Lancashire League.

After beating Greystoke in the last round Carlisle United face another Westmorland League side in Kirkoswald in an away tie.

Finally Workington have been drawn at home to Unisun Athletic from Carlisle, one of the leading sides in the Cumberland County League.

The ties have to be played on or before February 7 2026.

The latest stages of the Sunday County Cup competition have also been drawn for both the east and the west, with games set for January 20.

In the east, the matches are The Crown v Northbank 1970; Redfern Inn v Morton West; Club Britannia v Scotby; Denton Holme v Inter Pirelli.

The west draw is Moresby Rangers v Northside; Dearham Commercial v Lowca Pirates; Senhouse Street Club v Deer Orchard; The Sun v Maryport Amateurs.

The opening round of the Women’s Cumberland Cup was drawn, too, with just the two ties – Whitehaven v Workington Town reserves; Penrith Pathway v Stanwix. Games to be played on January 18.

There are byes for Workington Town, Penrith Development, Penrith, Carlisle United, Abbeytown and Whitehaven A.
