Team knockout quarter-finals take centre stage in Aspatria pool league

The quarter-finals of the keam knockout took centre stage in the latest round of games in Aspatria Pool League.

Leading the way were Sun Inn A who had a convincing 5-0 win over Wigton Park BC.

Sun Inn FC, with an impressive comeback, from being 4-2 down after the singles, clinched their match 5-4 against Cumberland B.

Tommy Allen and Lewis Fisher pulled the match back to 4-3 while Jobby Dunn and Johnny Gray brought the match level, before David Wilson and Jordan Falcon won the last double.

Wigton Rugby Club won their quarter final clash against Cumberland A after being tied 3-3 in the singles.

Ste Rumney and Eddie Miller won the first doubles, then Finn Carruthers and Mike Dodd won the second to make sure of a Rugby Club victory.

Miners A had a good battle with Sun Inn B after establishing an early lead of 4-2 from the singles.

Sun Inn pulled one back, winning the first double, before Craig Wilson and Karl Charters clinched the next game for a 5-3 win.

In a rearranged league game Letters A played Miners B. Richard Sunderland won his singles with a cracking double on the black to put the Miners 2-1 up, but Letters came back to win comfortably 6-3.
