Lancashire will again be playing in Cumbria next season when they will open their Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign.
The 50 over per side match will be against Surrey on Tuesday July 21 at Sedbergh School.
The changes in the first class counties cricket season fixtures for next year particularly around the Vitality Blast mean that the Blast Finals Day will now be played on Saturday July 18.
To avoid any potential fixture congestion they are not scheduling a warm-up game on Sunday July 19 at Sedbergh (Lancashire reached the final last year).
This recently introduced annual match has been commonly called the National Counties Showcase game for Cumbria who have played Lancashire at Sedbergh four times from 2021 to 2014.
Last year the county weren’t able to fulfil the fixture (they played Cheshire instead) as Cumbria were playing in the Super 12 stage of the NCCA T20 cup on the same day.
Lancashire are hopeful that they will also be playing Metro Bank Cup games at their newly built facility in Farrington (near Leyland) but that depends on how the pitch settles down in its first year of use.
