
A man made threats towards a couple and a child in Carlisle while holding a knife.
The incident happened on Raffles Avenue yesterday, Wednesday December 3, between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
Police have arrested a 59-year-old man on suspicion of threatening a person with a bladed article. He remains in police custody this afternoon.
Cumbria Constabulary said: “A group – two men, a woman and a girl – were speaking to one another at this time when a man and a woman with a young child walked past.
“One of the men from the group then yelled at the couple with the child to ‘shut up’ as the child was crying.
“The couple with the young child continued to walk away when it is alleged the man who yelled at them went into his home and came out holding a knife and yelling threats in the direction of the couple and the child.”
Cumbria police are appealing for information about the couple and are attempting to identify them as they may be able to assist officers with their investigation.
Officers are encouraging this couple to contact police.
