Workington Speedway is to stage another prestigious meeting at their Northside track next season.

The GT Tyres Arena has been officially selected to host the 2026 European 125cc Youth Track Racing Cup, which will take place on August 9.

This championship will bring the best young 125cc riders from across Europe to West Cumbria for a landmark event.

Northside being chosen to host the event shows how much the venue has improved and how it is now ready for top-level FIM international racing.

In recent seasons, Northside has run several successful youth and individual meetings, highlighting the club’s dedication to helping young riders develop and supporting the future of the sport.

Further details regarding the race schedule, admission information, and more will be published closer to the time.

Workington Speedway promoter Andrew Bain said: “We’re proud to bring an event of this level to Workington. Hosting it is another big step forward for the club and for the Northside venue.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talent coming through the sport, and we’re excited to welcome riders, families, and supporters from across Europe to West Cumbria next summer.

“Our aim in developing the track was to host FIM events, and we made everything to FIM specification and a new air-fence last year ensured we were capable of hosting such events.

“It’s an exciting platform for us, and we believe it can lead to more FIM dates and even larger international events coming to Northside.”
