
Harrington Legion B find themselves in pole position in the Workington Pool B League as the possibility of back-to-back promotions took a step closer.
In a one-sided content against Pack Horse B it was last season’s leading player Lewis King who was on top form as his three wins helped the legion to an 11-2 victory.
The Grapes find themselves just behind the Legion on frame difference as they had to dig deep and come from behind against the Bees Knees.
At 5-2 down it was Grant Porter and Frankie Peel that reignited the Grapes, who reeled off five frames in a row to win 7-6.
Red House A, who are also just behind the leaders on frame difference, got the better of Station Road B. At 5-5 it was the Red House that kept their composure as Gaz Hunter finished off for an 8-5 victory.
In other B league results Keelan Morris held his nerve to give Seaton Royal Oak a 7-6 victory over Cons Club A and the Miners kept in touch with the league leaders as they defeated Red House B 7-5.
In the A league seven teams find themselves all on eight points after seven games, trailing Harrington Legion by one win as the Legion went top of the league thanks to white-washing JJ’s C 13-0.
Behind the Legion only frame difference separates the septet with Station Road A remaining second despite a final frame loss to JJ’s A.
Station Road found themselves 5-2 up but couldn’t stop John Howarth’s excellent potting as JJ’s earned a 7-6 win.
JJ’s B find themselves in third place thanks to a 9-4 win over Station Road C.
Ben Scott kicked off the night with a win for JJ’s B which set the tone, as his team never looked troubled.
Pack Horse A suffered an early defeat when Cons Club B raced to a 7-1 unassailable lead.
Pack Horse did rally to make the score more respectable but Frank Lucas claimed his second frame to give the Cons a 9-4 win.
Moss Bay A have it all to do to avoid relegation. They faced The Waverley who were in an unforgiving mood as Luke Elliot helped them storm to a 10-3 win.
In the C league the WashHouse Miners seem unstoppable after another dominating performance.
Defeating Union Jack A 12-1 means that in the last two fixtures they have conceded one frame in 26.
Moss Bay B are just one win behind the leaders as they defeated JJ’s D 8-5.
This sets up a top of the table clash next week as a win for the WashHouse could give them a big lead nearing the half way stage of the programme.
JJ’s E are keeping within touching distance of promotion as they defeated Union Jack Club B away.
After an even 2-2 opening Craig Steele helped put together a five frame winning run that eventually gave JJ’s a 9-4 win.
Vinnie’s Bar made it three wins from four matches thanks to an impressive 11-2 victory over the Roundabout.
Finally the Railway’s dominant singles display earned them an 8-5 win over Grapes B.
